IA logbook ((:
it's been a while since i posted anything about IA.
8 weeks into IA, it's faster than expected,
let me do my review/summary here.
firstly,
i feel that i love my work environment.
the people inside are nice, really nice.
i hardly deal with the accounts and finance peeps
but jiali and BT are really like da gege and da jiejie.
it's like if you need help, they would definitely help you.
the operations department,
i worked with them sometimes,
when i need to deal with shipment and stuff
i like all of them inside
work and off work
we have so much to "gossip" about.
(gossip is not really about bitching...
it's a term my friend like to say)
sales department,
i dealt with them quite a lot
because that's the department imma in.
again, they are nice.
but they are specialised in their own development
so we cannot really help each other lah.
i hope to learn as much from them as possible.
you see interaction between the people inside,
there's no rivalry or what.
they worked as a team for the good of maha.
what more can we ask.
i'm looking forward to company trip this May! haha ((:
my mentor.
he is a joke. haha!!!
my colleagues commented,
he super 犯贱, he get high from people's scoldings.
LOL! he's nice as a mentor
he always say "please discuss"
i know there's so much i can learn from him.
second,
jobscope.
it's far from my expectation, idk why either.
my job is to develop more markets for the company.
so i need to do market research most of the time.
it's pretty challenging because i have zero experience
in this field and my sales colleagues easily know more than me.
but i'll need to keep trying.
mentor always say, its okay we fail. but we learn something.
its better if we made it, because there's where profit comes.
haha!!! i'm taking it slow la... development cannot rush one.
this week, i went to lab to do testing for customer's sample.
formulation chemistry i did.
never tried it in school.
it's a bit like research but on a smaller scale.
spent 2 days with my friend and we need to find out
the best formulation in terms of working
and the one that is worth buying from cust's pov.
that's when chem and biz come together :))
i also have ad-hoc duties.
to work with my boss and the external biz consultant
to come with SOPs for the company
and re-drafting of the policies.
most of the time, i needed to prepare all the ideas
then they will evaluate lo. NOT EASY :((
but i think it's really very insightful to talk to the biz con.
she's really influential with her words.
i want to be someone like that, haha!!!
third,
what i want?
i don't know if this is suitable for me
because it's weird you study so much, until uni
then you end up becoming a salesman.
salesman very xin ku one :((
i haven't start doing visitation to cust place
havent done a face-to-face meeting
a lot of things havent try
so i shall see...
keep an open mind!

yesterday was the release of A's results.
as usual, i felt like a 18 yros girl waiting to
receive my result slip.
i got AABBBC this year. it was better than last year.
the best thing is not the number of As or Bs i gotten.
but i felt that my students' effort was justified.
they deserved it totally.
some of them were really weak...
but they didnt give up, they worked till the very last day.
the tutee who cried in front of me got B, im happy for her((:
some of my B students said, it could have been worst
if not for my help and guidance all the while.
i thought it could have been better
if we hv more faith in ourselves.
A or B, i hope they can enter their desired course :))
i posted on fb a snapshot of my tutee's sms.
not because i want to show off my tutee got A or what
i just want to remember this lil girl.
when i was at my bottleneck, when
i felt life's a drag when i felt that i could do nth more
she told me, No Break (Brake), it's all the way to the top of the hill.
she appreciated my effort and i really liked her
because she is humble, sensible and hardworking, down-to-earth too.
i remembered the first time i saw her
that time her chem was really a big mess.
but she was really determined to do well
and her parents proud.
she's the only tutee who would stop me
and say, "Xiaohui, let me try first".
at prelims, she did okay, she got D
but she didn't slack
she had this timetable for herself
and she would change it every week.
i think she adhere to her timetable,
because she got 6 distinctions.
math econ chem gp gsc and pw. HOW AWESOME!!!
her name is on njc webpage LOL!!!
it's my honor to know her and
i'm really proud of this lil girl.
i wish her all the best ((:
i really love chemistry, teaching chemistry and
seeing my children improve by the days
